It features Drew s new Plus Fitting System with two removable footbeds. Both inserts can be kept in the shoe for Added Depth, or the lower insert can be removed to create a shoe with Double the Added Depth. These inserts, Pre-molded Polyurethane and EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) with Drilex covering, equalize pressure over the foot s full walking surface providing shock-absorption for maximum foot protection and comfort while reducing pain caused by pressure points and excess friction. Another great advantage is that the supplied inserts can be removed and replaced with Custom Orthotics. The shoe also features a Firm Heel Counter which reduces heel slippage and provides extra rear foot stability and support. Drilex linings wick away interior moisture and help prevent bacteria growth. I find it extremely difficult to find comfortable shoes. This is the fourth pair of Drew Parade II shoes I have purchased. They allow ample room at the front of the shoe for wide feet. The material itself is soft enough to allow them to be worn comfortably from day one. And with the double insole, I can wear one insole with my left foot and two with my right. I now wear Drew shoes exclusively and recommend the brand to those persons with difficult to fit feet, particularly wearers of orthotics. My only complaint is that now it seems that this shoe is supplied through other smaller shoe suppliers rather than through Amazon directly. For those in the US this is not an issue, but for international buyers, like myself, the international shipping charge of the present shop suppliers is ridiculously expensive, one-third the cost of the shoe. Hopefully Amazon will resume supplying Drew Parade II again directly so a reasonable shipping cost can be charged for an excellent shoe.

Now, this shoe isn't going to cure any foot problems, but for my grandmother it has helped. My grandmother is 89, and it is hard to fit for shoes. She has one bunion, and callous on her feet, which make it difficult for her to walk. My grandmother said because it kind of a big shoe made her feet look big, she wears the shoes all the time now. Now, on the side where the trim is around the ankle was any higher it would bother her and she couldn't wear the shoe, also the trim on the tongue of the shoe bother her at first, but as said no more about this, so I guess it's ok with her. Her bunion doesn't bother her in the shoe. From what I can tell looks like a well built shoe, and she likes it.
